The Florida Gold Project is a long-term, large-scale project initiated to focus on the importance of the ecosystem in Florida. The project is executed through artwork that highlights Florida wildlife and environments to grab attention, spread awareness and spur involvement for protecting our native wildlife.
With each piece sold, a portion of the proceeds supports the specified organization working to protect and preserve the Florida wildlife represented in the artwork.
Overdevelopment across Florida has placed increasing pressure on the state’s delicate ecosystems, threatening the natural habitats that countless native species rely on. Protecting our wildlife and preserving these environments has never been more important to ensure Florida’s natural beauty and biodiversity endure for generations to come.

While I was around halfway through my goals for this summer with Florida Gold, devastating news proved to me even further the importance of this project. After all of the protections placed on the Everglades, all the hard work of conservationists, and everything Marjory Stoneman Douglas (who is the reason we have The Everglades as we know it) had achieved in warding off the development of this fragile ecosystem, our government has shown its true colors in the form of “Alligator Alcatraz”. The fact that our government has taken it upon itself to ignore the necessary protections on this land and the opinions of Floridians who understand what this project is leading to means this is more important than ever.
The Florida Gold Project matters in the grand scheme of spreading awareness and spurring action in Floridians to protect our natural land and resources. Overdevelopment has been an ongoing issue in Florida. The more our lands are bought and bulldozed into gas stations, parking lots, strip malls and housing units that will remain empty, the more we lose what makes this state Florida. Our native animals become displaced and endangered, our ecosystem suffers, our water becomes polluted, and we lose our natural vegetation and habitats… Some of which exist nowhere else in the world. One major example is The Everglades, which can only be found here in Southern Florida.
In order to protect our state, we need to be spreading awareness about what is happening and educating on the consequences that come along with it. From awareness and consequence comes a sense of urgency, and from this, we can direct people who care on how they can help.
Florida does not have to become a concrete oasis. When enough of us take action, we can work together to keep Florida wild.

As of Fall 2025, Florida Gold has grown tremendously since the first inklings of the project began to form in my artwork not even two years ago. I have currently created over 25 ink paintings, three large-scale acrylic paintings, two sculptures, and plan to make many more. Throughout the course of summer 2025, I have done extensive research and resource collection, created some of the art pieces listed previously, and built and developed the full branding for this project, consisting of: the logo, business cards, the website mockup, branding guidelines, and the post cards, as well as this website (with the help of an amazing team) that you are viewing right now!
I am so thankful to have had the support I needed to be able to bring this project to life, and am very excited for where I will be taking it in the future as I continue to expand upon it. I hope to provide enough awareness and donations to leave a great impact on our wildlife and ecosystem to ensure its protection for years to come
